Share with the community
UGGA runs on what its members share. The goal is something new on the site every week. Everything below is quick to do, and a post starts from a template, so you know what to write.
How review works
- Choose what you would like to share below. A post starts from a template, so you know what to write.
- Save a draft whenever you like. Your drafts wait on your account page.
- Submit it for review. An admin reads every post and event before it goes live.
- You get an email when it is published, or when it comes back with a note on what to change.
A forum post is the exception: it appears in the members' forum right away. A suggested resource goes to the team, who check it before adding it.
What would you like to share?
- Event takeaways
What you learned at an event
The highlights of a conference, field day, or webinar, from someone who went.
- Farm visit
A visit to a farm
What a visit to a farm showed, shared with the farm's permission.
- Research note
Share research
Share a study, trial, or data finding with the community.
- Forum post
A question, tip, or discussion thread with other members
Start a discussion in the members' forum. It appears there right away, and only members can read it.
- Event
An event the community should know about
A conference, field day, or webinar others may want to attend.
- New resource
A helpful resource
Helpful links: guides, tools, programs, organizations.
Photos
Photos make a post, and every one needs three things.
- Permission
- Use only photos you took or have permission to share. Ask people before you share their photo, and ask a farm before you share photos of it.
- Credit
- Say who took the photo. It appears under the photo as "Photo: name".
- Alternative text
- Describe what the photo shows in a sentence or two, for people who cannot see it.
